| Most of the documents accessible for download from the SafeNetwork site are either in Word or Excel formats. This document illustrates how to download files and also identifies a problem that many Internet Explorers users have encountered. Depending on your computer and browsers settings, the following may occur: A. The document opens in the current browser. To save, choose "File" --> "Save As" from the top menu bar. (Illustration Below) ![]() ![]() Select the location where the file should be saved, then press "OK" --------------------------------------------------------- B. An option box appears: ![]() Choose to open the file in the current browser or save the file to your hard disk. Press "OK". There have been reports of problems downloading Word and Excel Files from Internet Explorer. Below are two solutions that should alleviate the problem.
Existing Problem: When you double click on a Word or Excel link Internet Explorer prompts you to "Enter Network Password" or an error occurs when you try to exit Word or Excel. Microsoft Corporation has identified these to be a known problem with Microsoft Office 2000 Premium Edition, Professional Edition, Standard Edition, Small Business Edition, and Developer Edition.
